I didn’t see the moon last night. Wanted to. Tried. But the cloud cover was too dense. I felt it though. Again. Early morning pull. So…Harvest Moon with Crow is finished. Crow came about, as happens, on its own. Woven figure morphing a bit and then outside…loud, insistent, continuous–CROWS. I was deep into the cloth and it took a bit for me to surface, for me to hear–for Crows to get my attention. And when I stopped to really listen…to listen and acknowledge their presence…I found myself following thread again as 8 crows formed on the cloth. Eight little crows and one originator. And so cloth, as it does, changed quickly from focus on moon to moon and crow. The dance.
Love this piece such subtle colours, and the figure, great. The moon was amazing last night.

I love how this being turned sideways and in doing so became not a woven strip but a cloth being so in keeping with your style of work–of the cloth, not just on top of it. And I also love the insistence of the crows to be included…

hi Beth. this cloth is also about 1/2 the size of what i usually do. and i’m finding that working smaller, more to scale with critter beings, is freeing up something. and yes, the crows. how they carried on until they got on cloth–and then…quiet.

oh Mo. is this cloth really “art?” i usually refer to it as my work or my cloth–have never said “my art.” that feels so? well, it just feels weird. in a nice kinda way. thank you for that.

I went out in the late late afternoon, too early to find the moon. But, as I stood beneath the pinkorange clouds, the crows began to go home for the night, their path, flying right above me. I stood in silence, the air thick around me and one love crow flew by. I could hear the slow wooshing of his wings, like I never had before. It was something.
I like these woven people showing up in your world. This one reminds me of “Crow and Weasel” a bit. Lovely.

I read a study years ago about crows – they evidently remember faces and if a person tries to harm a crow, that crow will let all of the other crows in the “murder” know that this person means harm….when that person is seen by any of the crows, they swoop down to attack him and to protect each other….since them, I’ve felt a real kinship with the intuitiveness of crows. This piece is beautiful!

i’m goose-bumpy imagining what that sounded like and in my imagining, i feel the air-from-wing move across your face.
