this was just dumb luck i guess. avocado on folded cloth, wrapped around tin can, and when i unfolded it up the shape was there. a rorschach image. the yellow/brown seemed to lend itself to the primitive, ancient sense of it all. it’s iconic for me, in a way, where i really resonate.
and then this morning i was gazing out the window–just as color was coming back into the world and i realized the yellow cloth was so in sync with the poplar leaves–so i went outside with camera–and heard the geese just before they came into view. the place is surrounded by trees–not a huge sky opening–and the cam was set on close-up–but there they were, just for a second, crossing the path of the lens, crossing right overhead, headed east? wondering about that. are these the Canadian Geese that come to WV in the winter? maybe so.
I really like the cloth in this post. Your stitches are beautiful – so nice – the black thread with the neutrals of the fabric. I love the way you have emphasized the symmetry in such a sensitive way.
amazing….amazing …how did you do it? did you cut the shape first?
and i am waiting here now for the cranes to Call from overhead…any day now.
